This Privacy Policy explains how E-COMHUB SRL ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the Venice Digital Guide mobile application and the website at venicedigitalguide.com (together, the "Service"), collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data. It also describes your rights and how to exercise them.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information - your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form) when you create an account.
  • Communications - messages you send us (support requests, feedback) and any information you choose to include.
  • Marketing preferences - your email and consent status if you opt in to our newsletter.

Information collected automatically

  • Precise location data - see Section 3. Used to show your position on the map and provide navigation.
  • Usage data - features used, places viewed, itineraries generated, and in-app actions, used to operate and improve the Service.
  • Device and technical data - device model, operating system version, app version, language, and (on the website) IP address and approximate location derived from it.
  • Diagnostics - crash logs and performance data.

Information from Apple

  • Purchase confirmations - when you buy through the App Store, Apple confirms the transaction to us. We do not receive your card number or full payment details (see Section 4).

2. How we use your information and legal bases

  • To create and manage your account and provide access to purchased content - legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To show your location and provide map and navigation features - legal basis: your consent (location permission).
  • To process and confirm In-App Purchases - legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including analytics - legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • To respond to support requests - legal basis: legitimate interests or contract.
  • To send marketing emails, if you opt in - legal basis: your consent.
  • To comply with legal obligations - legal basis: legal obligation.

3. Location data

With your permission, the app accesses your device's precise (GPS) location while you are actively using the app ("when in use") in order to display your position on the map and provide navigation to selected places.

You can grant or revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings, under Privacy and Security, Location Services. The app remains usable without location access, though map and navigation features will be limited.

We process your location only to provide these features and do not retain your location history on our servers.

4. Payments and In-App Purchases

All purchases of digital content in the app are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple acts as the seller and merchant of record for these transactions and processes your payment information under Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not collect or store your payment card details.

Refund requests for In-App Purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's policies. See our Terms of Service for details.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf under contract - for example cloud hosting, database, analytics, crash reporting, and email delivery providers.
  • Apple, for purchase processing and app distribution.
  • Map and routing providers used to render the map and directions; their terms also apply.
  • Authorities or third parties where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights and safety.
  • A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted following account deletion (see Section 10), except where we must retain certain records (for example transaction records for tax and accounting) for the period required by law.

7. International transfers

We are based in the Republic of Moldova and use service providers that may process data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), or transfers to countries deemed adequate.

8. Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to: access your data; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact venicedigitalguide@gmail.com.

9. Your rights (California / CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to request deletion; to correct inaccurate information; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. 10. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account directly inside the app, under Settings, Account, Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your personal profile data from our systems, subject to the limited legal retention described in Section 6. You may also request deletion by emailing venicedigitalguide@gmail.com.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and hashed password storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where required, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
