Imagine Venice in 1630—devastated by a terrible plague, with thousands perishing. In desperation, the Doge vowed to build a magnificent church if the city was spared. The plague finally ended, and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute was born, becoming a symbol of faith, hope, and gratitude.
